Client testimonials

Our firm, Electromate, has been doing business with Graham Brown of GBC HR for several years.

When I first met Graham, he immediately struck me as a top-level HR consultant/coach by way of his innate ability to “read between the lines” and immediately key in on the true issues.  I found his no-nonsense approach refreshing and hired him to provide ongoing HR Consulting Services to our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and to assist in the development of our esteemed culture.

Graham’s first engagement with Electromate was an unqualified success.  He overhauled our bloated 360 page HR Manual to a much more manageable 175 pages and redrafted many of the policies in layman terms, which he then rolled out to great effect in a company-wide Town Hall address.

Follow-up initiatives included:  performing a SLT health check, managing ongoing employee HR issues and revamping our employee annual review process to incorporate GBC’s proprietary PerformPlus™ Peformance Management Program.  Graham also taught our SLT to communicate more effectively with each other and our respective team members, and drove home the importance of creating a more motivated, engaged and aligned culture.

The improvements to Electromate from Graham’s program were marked.  Employee Net Promoter Scores went from 42 (above average) to 80 (world class), completion of our quarterly business goals/objectives went from <40% (average) to >80% (world class) and Electromate was recently recognized as the 28th Best Workplace in Canada for companies under 100 employees.  Our SLT is currently healthy and aligned which has resulted in improved collaboration, better decision making and more deliberate execution of our strategic goals.

Overall, Graham’s coaching significantly moved Electromate’s performance needle.

We continue to work with GBC HR on various HR initiatives as we’ve found him to be a trusted advisor.  Of the five coaches Electromate is currently engaged with, Graham is consistently rated at the top by our SLT.

I will continue to recommend GBC HR to my fellow CEO peers.

Equity Credit Union hired GBC HR to assist with executive search for 2 key management positions over the past couple of years. GBC also helped us to draft an employment contract and recommended appropriate pay levels.

We found GBC’s expertise resulted in the credit union hiring 2 very capable and experienced candidates that have fit in very well within the organization. This helped us expand our organization so that we could continue the growth trajectory of our credit union as well as continue to offer superior member experiences. They are very professional throughout the process and undertake a complete and thorough approach to hiring.

I would recommend GBC HR to any organization requiring recruitment or HR expertise.
